The Panagbenga theme this 2014 is Inspiring the Community for a Greener Tomorrow that promotes pro-environment community. The festival's Grand Opening was lead by a drum and lyre dance competition that participated by 11 elementary schools.
The main event was conducted last Saturday and Sunday, February 22 and 23 where the dance competition and the Grand Parade were held.
The festival includes of floats that are decorated with flowers by the participating sponsors of the event, street dancing with the dancers in flowered-inspired costumes and some are based on the theme they represent in the parade. Some of the famous companies in the country that participated in the event are SM Baguio, TPLEX, SMART, 7-eleven, NLEX, Psalmstre, Mrgapines, AMA, Le Monte Hotel, Beauche International, Goldust Creation, Jollibee, MLhuillier, Casino Femme, Agripinoy, AllPhones Philippines, and IPC.
The Panagbenga comes from the Kangkaney word that means "Season of Blooming". The event also features the different exhibitions and expositions of various landscapers, trade fares, concerts and bazaar. It normally ends on the last week of February and it closes the whole session road for the bazaar to take place for one (1) week. This year the bazaar will start on February 24 to March 2, 2014.
